Im Abendrot
I made this small film based on Richard Strauss’ song Im Abendrot (with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, soprano and George Szell, conductor).
I dedicate this film to my mother Susan and to my brother Eli. After their sudden death I had such a strong feeling that life is there as layers, merging into us and into life itself – slowly, but not disappearing; where past, present and future suddenly can become one.
The text of the poem is included at the beginning of the film. I leave you to listen as my images dissolve and merge, one into another.
